誤區(qū)一:介紹自己,事無(wú)巨細(xì)
“now, tell us something about yourself.”這是面試的時(shí)候大家普遍會(huì)被問(wèn)到的一個(gè)常規(guī)問(wèn)題,看似簡(jiǎn)單卻不好回答。很多人甚至?xí)淖约旱某錾刂v起,其實(shí)這是很沒(méi)有必要的。我們可以揣摩一下面試官問(wèn)這個(gè)問(wèn)題的原因吧。沒(méi)有人真正對(duì)你在什么地方出生感興趣,他們真正感興趣的是你的專業(yè)背景和你的工作經(jīng)歷。考官其實(shí)是在問(wèn)你“why should i hire you?”初出茅廬的你如果沒(méi)有什么工作經(jīng)歷,不妨多描述一下自己在專業(yè)上的造詣——這才是考官感興趣的“硬件”;如果這方面不是很突出,則應(yīng)該多描述一下自己“軟件”,如自己的學(xué)習(xí)能力,對(duì)于這個(gè)行業(yè)的激情等。語(yǔ)言要力求簡(jiǎn)潔,圍繞著“why should you hire me ”這個(gè)中心來(lái)說(shuō),要給人留下干練的感覺(jué)。舉個(gè)例子,應(yīng)聘教師職位你可以說(shuō):”majoring in english and being passionate about education, i choose teaching as my career. i’ve got a lot making of a good teacher. first, i am good at communicating with people…”
誤區(qū)二:?jiǎn)柤叭秉c(diǎn),閃爍其詞
“what is your greatest weakness?”
當(dāng)被問(wèn)及你的缺點(diǎn)是什么的時(shí)候,如何應(yīng)對(duì)?這也算是一個(gè)棘手的“常規(guī)問(wèn)題”。“金無(wú)足赤,人無(wú)完人”,每個(gè)人都有自己的缺點(diǎn),有很多缺點(diǎn)是我們自己很清楚的,也有一些是我們自己都不自知的。究竟是如實(shí)作答還是避重就輕?如果如實(shí)作答,則擔(dān)心用人單位會(huì)因此將自己拒之門(mén)外,因此很多人就選擇避重就輕。提前想好了很多看似很“圓滑”的答案。比如:“the greatest weakness that i have is that i am always a perfectionist.”我最大的缺點(diǎn)就是太追求完美。這聽(tīng)起來(lái)這似乎是一個(gè)很討巧的答案,其實(shí)對(duì)你求職是不利的,一是因?yàn)橄氤鲞@個(gè)“討巧”答案的必定不止你一個(gè)人,二是因?yàn)檫@個(gè)答案會(huì)讓你顯得比較“滑頭”。即使這是真的,對(duì)方也會(huì)覺(jué)得你似乎沒(méi)有能力授權(quán)給他人。對(duì)付這個(gè)問(wèn)題,可事先針對(duì)你所申請(qǐng)的這個(gè)職位特點(diǎn)精心設(shè)計(jì)好一個(gè)答案——即一個(gè)“非常切合工作實(shí)際,可以被容忍,可以被改正”的缺點(diǎn)。這個(gè)缺點(diǎn)跟工作有關(guān)、但又不會(huì)妨礙你行使工作職責(zé)。記住,這個(gè)缺點(diǎn)一定是建立在你好的“基本面”之上的。描述人的缺點(diǎn)的詞很多,比如lack of passion, lack of the sense of responsibility, lack self-discipline, lack of confidence, not well organized, not punctual, not easy going, being arrogant, being self-centered, being over careful……有些缺點(diǎn)在一些職位中是致命的,有些則不是,挑自己身上存在,但是與該職位不大相關(guān)的缺點(diǎn)去說(shuō)自然就是最有策略的做法了。比如,你去應(yīng)聘一個(gè)秘書(shū)職位,你就可以講講自己“行動(dòng)力雖然很強(qiáng),但是計(jì)劃的能力卻不強(qiáng)”,因?yàn)槊貢?shū)職位更注重執(zhí)行力,處理細(xì)事是秘書(shū)職責(zé)的首要,全局計(jì)劃的能力缺乏對(duì)秘書(shū)并不構(gòu)成致命缺點(diǎn)。”though i am really good at carrying out the plans, i must admit that sometimes i stick myself into the details and fail to see the whole picture. well, i’ve realized that and i am just trying to improve it. ”
誤區(qū)三:談到薪水,缺乏策略
在面試中,薪水也是必須談的問(wèn)題,當(dāng)面試官問(wèn)道“l(fā)et’s talk about salary. what are you looking for?”,該如何回答呢?很多求職者要么回答得太快,太直接,要么就是不敢作答,生怕自己的要價(jià)嚇跑了雇主。在面試之前你必須了解你所在的行業(yè)的平均薪水,回答這個(gè)問(wèn)題才能做到“有底氣”。要注意兩條,首先,不要急于作答,也就是說(shuō)考官主動(dòng)問(wèn)起你的薪水期待,不要主動(dòng)挑起這個(gè)話題,否則會(huì)給人留下你一心只看往錢(qián)看的印象,也容易過(guò)早暴露你的底牌;第二不要說(shuō)得太多,一句“well, that’s something i’ve thought long and hard about and i think someone with my experience should get between x & y?!本蛪蛄?。或者說(shuō)“i am looking for my first job, so what i’m more interested is what the position can offer my career。”這顯示了新人應(yīng)有的態(tài)度。當(dāng)然,如果你是那種真的很稀缺的人才,則不妨痛快直接地說(shuō)出你的期許?!?00,000 a month is what i am expecting. trust me, i will make your money worth!” 當(dāng)然,這種自信不是每個(gè)人都能有的,敢這么說(shuō)的人須有寡才!
